Tangerine juice

Concentrated tangerine juice is the tangerine concentrated product obtained from sound, mature fruit. The fruit is prepared by sorting and by washing prior to extraction of fruit.

Commercially, tangerine juice is extracted in a manner similar to that used for oranges. To avoid off flavors, care should be taken during extraction to avoid incorporation of excessive oil from pulp and peel.

Tangerine juice is a poor choice for beverages that contain more than 10 to 15 percent juice because the juice will become too bitter.

Using small concentration of tangerine juice together with sweet orange juice can impart a richer more orange color to some pale colored sweet orange juice.

Tangerine juice is an excellent source of vitamin C. Vitamin C from the tangerine juice fights cancer and increases immunity. Vitamin C too needed for healthy gums and body tissue.

The juice also contain vitamin A. Vitamin A needed for growth, normal vision and healthy condition of skin and the body surfaces.

Tangerine juice contain 0.03 % hesperidin. The juices also a good source of potassium in human nutrition.

Due to a favorable ratio of sodium to potassium, the juice is generally prescribed in diets to balance the body electrolytes in summer months.
