Frappuccino

Frappuccino is a registered trademark of Starbucks Coffee, frappuccinos are cold coffee drinks – a mix of coffee, water, milk, ice and a various syrup.

Frappuccino was born as a result of a persistent suggestion by several Starbucks baristas who had created theory own cold blended coffee concoction.

The company stepped in and developed the product into what is recognized today as Frappuccino.

It became a runaway success across the country in the summer of 1995. With the Pepsi Cola distribution network, it was to be sold, bottled through grocery stores, delis, gourmet cookshop and in gas stations.

The name is rooted in New England as well: frappe is a type of milkshake unique to New England, and a cappuccino is an Italian coffee topped with frothed milk.

In 1994, Starbucks purchased the Coffee Connection chain, took over the recipe for the frappuccino and made it global sensation.
