Radishes are roots in the mustard family that are available year around. Their flavor is somewhat mild but has a peppery finish. Radishes juice help to digest food. Good digestion is necessary to avoid constipation and to keep the liver and pancreas strong.

Radish has the virtues of loosening and drawing up hard phlegm from the chest thus easing respiration, and of expelling sand from the bladder and of dissolving stones so that they pass out as sand.

Radishes also fortify digestion and loosen blockages of the spleen and liver. Yet whoever etas too freely of them will be oppressed by windiness.

Radishes are strongly diuretic and stimulate the appetite and digestion. Nearly one-third of the mineral content of radishes is potassium which builds muscular tissues and of the remaining two-thirds, more than one-third is sodium which keeps the blood fluid and prevents the accumulation of acid deposits.

The iron and magnesium content are both high and for this reason radish juice has a marked effect in healing and soothing the mucous membranes and cleansing mucous from the body.
